Top 9 Things to Know About Google Chrome Profiles

You should know that you can add multiple Google accounts in the same Chrome profile. Switching between them is as simple as clicking a single button. All of your personal information, such as bookmarks, history, and passwords, is saved to the Google Account by default. What if you want to keep your personal and professional activities in separate accounts? To do this, you can configure multiple profiles in Chrome, especially if you share the computer or Chrome with others.

Chrome profiles come in handy if you share your computer with multiple people. Or, when someone wants to use Chrome for a short time, you can create a different profile or use the guest profile.

Let’s dive deeper into the world of Chrome’s multiple accounts functionality. Here you will learn how to manage and configure Google Chrome profiles.

1. What are Chrome profiles

Chrome profiles keep your Chrome data, such as bookmarks, history, passwords, and other settings, separate for each user. Say you are sharing your Chrome with your brother. Instead of creating a new user profile for your entire computer, you can create two Chrome profiles to separate personal information. Each profile will behave as an independent entity and synchronize data limited to its user only.

It is important to keep in mind that any user can switch to other Chrome profiles and view personal data. Profiles are not password protected. So create a Chrome profile only for trusted contacts.

2. Where can you use Chrome profiles

Chrome profiles are available on PC only. You can’t use them on Chrome mobile apps (Android or iOS). However, if you want to separate your information in Android, you can try the multi-user functionality of Android.

3. How to create a Chrome profile

Creating a Chrome profile is an easy task. Here are the steps to create a new profile.

Step 1: Launch Chrome on your PC.

2nd step: Click on the Profile icon at the top. From the menu, select Add.
