We couldn’t sync this library 0x80070093, 0x80004005 – OneDrive error

Error code=0x80004005; Error source=Groove

If, when you try to synchronize a SharePoint library through OneDrive for Business on Windows 10, you receive one of the following errors:

  • The query can not be completed because the number of search columns it contains exceeds the threshold of the search column imposed by the administrator. Error code = 0x80070093; Error Source = Groove
  • Unspecified Error, Error Code = 0x80004005; Error Source = Groove

then in this post, we provide the solution to remedy these two seemingly distinct errors.

This library can not be synchronized 0x80070093, 0x80004005 – OneDrive error

A SharePoint Library is a site on a site where you can download, create, update and collaborate on files with members of the team. Each library displays a list of files and key information about the files. When using OneDrive with an account provided by your company or school, this is called OneDrive for businesses.

Error code = 0x80070093; Error Source = Groove

To resolve this problem, you must reduce the number of search columns in the SharePoint Online list, and then try to synchronize the library. Do it until the error is no longer triggered.

To delete a column, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the relevant SharePoint Online list.
  2. Click on LIBRARY tab on the SharePoint ribbon and then click Library Settings.
  3. In the list of columns, click the name of the column to delete.
  4. Click on Wipe off at the bottom of the Edit column page and then click D & #39; agreement.

Note: Before deleting a column, think about the possible consequences on the list.

This problem is often caused by a damaged client cache. To fix it, you must rebuild the local client cache.

Here's how:

Save all the files you have synced! If you use the default storage location, all files would be found;

C: Users % username% OneDrive for Business

Now stop synchronizing everything by right-clicking the OneDrive for Business icon in the system tray and then clicking Stop synchronizing a folder. Repeat this for all libraries if you have more than one.

Right click on the Microsoft Office Download Center icon in the notification area. Click on Settings then click Empty the cache.

Right click on the Microsoft Office Download Center icon in the system tray and click on Exit.

Then press Ctrl + Shift + Esc launch the Task Manager and finish Groove.exe and MSOSYNC.EXE processes if they are running.

Now, press Windows + R to call the Run dialog box. Copy and paste the path below into the box and press Enter:

% USER PROFILE%

Rename your OneDrive for Business folder and your SharePoint folder for backup purposes.

Open the Run dialog again, but this time copy and paste the path below and press Enter:

% USERPROFILE% AppData Local Microsoft Office 15.0

On the spot, continue to remove the OfficeFileCache, SPW and WebServiceCache Records. Ignore files that can not be deleted and not all users will have these folders.

Restart your PC.

At startup, try resynchronizing the library. You will receive a prompt asking which URLs you want to synchronize.

Pro TipThe easiest way, instead of using URLs, is to open the site collection you want to sync, and then click the "Sync" button on the ribbon. This automatically launches the OneDrive client installed (if you use IE / Edge and if nothing is misconfigured). On a default Windows installation, it works immediately.
