For example, if you have personal and work Facebook accounts, you can quickly switch between them with just one click. Likewise, if you share your computer with other family members, you can use the switch account feature. It is an efficient and fast way to disconnect and login to multiple Facebook or Messenger accounts. When you change accounts, you will only receive notifications for the account you are logged in to.

Availability of Switch account functionality

The switch account function is only available on the desktop version of facebook.com. The feature is not available on Facebook mobile apps. On the contrary, you find it on the mobile apps of Facebook Messenger and not on the desktop version of Messenger.

You can add up to 10 Facebook accounts on the Facebook website. As for the Messenger mobile apps, you can store information for up to 5 accounts.

How to change accounts on the old Facebook

Open the Facebook website. Click the change account icon at the top. If you haven’t added an additional Facebook account, click Add Account. Enter your login information. Later, when you need to change accounts, tap the account listed under the change account icon.

Point: To delete an account, click on the small cross icon on the account name.

To change accounts on the new Facebook website, click the little down arrow in the upper right corner of the page. From the menu, select Change Account. Then select the account you want to connect to.

Log off from Facebook

If your Messenger account is linked to Facebook, you must log out of all sessions. To do this, open the Facebook application. Tap the three bar icon at the top. Go to Settings> Security & connection. Under Where you’re signed in, tap See all. Tap Disconnect from all sessions. This will require you to sign out of your Facebook and Messenger accounts on all of your devices. You will need to re-enter your login information. Hope this should fix the problem.
