Windows Firewall prevents connections to your computer
On the Windows Firewall Troubleshooter or the Windows Network Diagnostics Troubleshooter, if the following message is displayed: Windows Firewall prevents connections to your computer. The Windows Firewall Rule The DNS HSS Leak Rule Can Block Your Connection then try the following suggestions:
- Allow an application or feature through the Windows Firewall
- Uncheck DNS HSS leak rule in private and public domains
1) Allow an application or feature through the Windows Firewall
Open the Windows Defender Security Center. Select Firewall and Network Protection.
Now click on "Allow an application through a firewall".
Click on "Modify the parameters"button." Make sure you have administrator privileges
In the menu, select the application that you want to allow through the firewall. You can also add the application manually with the help of "Add an application"Option.
Now select the type of network an application can access.
- Private network will allow the app to connect to the Internet only at home or at work
- Public Network will allow the app to connect to the Internet from anywhere, including WiFi public access points.
2) Uncheck DNS HSS leak rule in private and public domains
In the same panel Allow applications to communicate through Windows Firewall, click the Change Settings button for the image you see above.
Scroll and uncheck DNS HSS rule of escape in private and in public.
When done, click OK.
This should solve your problem.
