3 Best Fixes for IGTV Videos Not Sharing to Facebook (Mobile and PC)
Facebook, as the parent company of Instagram, made it easy for users to share content between the two platforms. Just like regular posts (photos and short videos), you can also share your Instagram TV videos (IGTV) on Facebook with one click. It’s a transparent process, but there are times when it doesn’t work. This message will walk you through solving the issues that prevent you from sharing IGTV videos on Facebook.
IGTV videos can be shared on Facebook from the Instagram app, Instagram Web or the dedicated IGTV app. If your IGTV videos fail to be shared on Facebook, you can try other platforms / devices. In other words, use the IGTV app if you can’t share your videos on the Instagram app or on the web. You must also make sure that your application (Instagram or IGTV) is up to date.
Still can’t share IGTV videos on Facebook? Then move on to the other solutions listed below.
Note: The fixes in this guide apply to Android and iOS devices.
1. Reconnect the Facebook account
I assume you have connected your Instagram app (or IGTV) to your Facebook account. And if you can’t share IGTV videos with your Facebook audience, you need to unlink your Facebook account from Instagram, reconnect it, and try again.
We’ll show you how to do it on the Instagram and IGTV app.
Reconnect Facebook on the Instagram app
Step 1: Launch the Instagram app and tap the profile icon in the lower right corner of the app.
2nd step: Then select the hamburger menu icon in the upper right corner of the profile page.
Step 3: Select Settings.
Step 4: Tap Account.
Step 5: Select Linked accounts and press Facebook.
Step 6: Tap Unlink account.
Step 7: Tap “Yes, Ungroup” at the confirmation prompt.
This will disconnect your Facebook and Instagram accounts. Now you need to reconnect the two accounts. Close and reopen the Instagram app and continue with the steps below.
Step 8: On the Linked Accounts page (step # 1 – # 5), select Facebook and press Continue at the prompt that appears.
Instagram would automatically detect and request access to the Facebook account connected to your mobile browser by default.
Step 9: The application invites you to connect to your Facebook account. Enter your account credentials and tap Sign In.
If your default mobile browser is already connected to a Facebook account, you will be asked to continue.
Note: To connect to another Facebook account, you must first log out of your default mobile browser.
Your account will be linked to your Facebook page. The in-app IGTV service should now detect your Facebook account every time you try to share your IGTV videos.
Reconnect Facebook on the IGTV app
If you are using the standalone IGTV app and are unable to share videos on your Facebook profile, unlinking and reconnecting your Facebook account could also help.
It’s also quite simple. Follow the steps described below.
Step 1: Launch the IGTV app and tap the gear icon in the upper right corner.
This will launch the Application Settings page.
2nd step: Select Linked Accounts.
Step 3: Select Unlink Account on the page and press “Yes, Unlink” at the confirmation prompt.
Step 4: Close the IGTV application and relaunch it.
Step 5: Go to the Settings page (see step 1) and tap Associated accounts.
Step 6: Select Continue in the pop-up window and log in with your Facebook account credentials.
2. Check IGTV status
If you’re still unable to share IGTV videos on Facebook, check to see if the IGTV service is up and running. The problem could come from the end of Instagram; the IGTV server could be down, for example.
You should check with your friends to see if they are facing similar issues. You can also use third-party tools to check if Instagram’s IGTV status. DownDetector is a reputable platform that monitors the status of websites in real time to detect outages and other service interruptions.
If the Facebook sharing problem persists with your IGTV videos, check that the service is working properly. You can check the status of IGTV via the button below.
3. Link the Facebook page to Instagram
You must meet two important prerequisites to share IGTV videos on Facebook.
- You must be the administrator of a Facebook page.
- The page must be linked to your Instagram account.
When I couldn’t share IGTV videos on my Facebook account, I discovered it was because my Facebook page was not linked to my Facebook account. After fixing this, I was able to share my IGTV videos.
Follow the steps below to connect your Facebook page to your IGTV.
Step 1: Open the administration panel of your Facebook page and tap Settings.
2nd step: On the left side of the Facebook page settings, select Instagram.
Step 3: Press the Connect Account button.
This will open a new browser window where you will need to enter the credentials for your Instagram account.
Step 4: If you are logged into Instagram on the browser, you can press the “ Continue as … ” button without having to enter your email / username and password.
You can press the Change Account button to connect another Instagram account to the page.
Now that your Facebook page is connected to your Instagram account, you should no longer have problems sharing IGTV videos on your Facebook account.
If you don’t have a Facebook page connected to your Facebook profile, you will get a “No Facebook page found” error when you try to share IGTV videos on Facebook.
