How to Record Your Screen with Zoom on Windows 10 and macOS
You can use the Zoom screen recording function to create video guides, tutorials, and so on. You can also avoid taking notes during meetings by using the screen recording function to capture everything.
In this guide, I will explain step by step how to register your screen under Windows 10 and macOS. I will also show you how to annotate when recording your whiteboard's screen.
Here's how to use it.
Registering your screen on Windows and Mac
Here's how to save your computer's screen under Windows and Mac using the Zoom desktop application.
Step 1: Launch the application Zoom
2nd step: Start a new meeting with zoom as a host by clicking on the New Meeting icon, as shown in the image below.
Step 3: Click Share from the main screen or the toolbar.
However, if you have turned on the camera of your computer, your experience will be slightly different. You will need to use the Share option from the toolbar.
But that's if you do not want to record a video of yourself. If you prefer to register before recording your screen, perhaps as an introduction or something, here's how.
In the Zoom toolbar, you will see Save, click on it. You will see that the video is being recorded because your Zoom application will show "Recording".
When you have finished recording and want to save your screen, you can do one of two things. You can click the Share icon on the toolbar, and then open the program you want to save on your screen. You can also pause video, click Share, and when you have selected the file you want to share, click Resume Recording.
For this guide, I guess you want to record only your screen. If you ever decide to place yourself in your screen recording, you can use the suggestions above with ease.
Step 4: Select a screen, window, or application that you want to share.
You can also select from the list of open windows or applications on your computer.
Step 5: Click Share at the bottom right of the screen.
Sharing your screen will reveal a toolbar and meeting control that can be moved around the screen.
Step 6: Tap the More icon to view more options.
Step 7: In the drop-down menu, click Save to start your screen recording.
You can pause, resume, and stop your screen recording.
Step 8: When you have finished your screen recording, return to More, and then click Finish Meeting from the drop-down menu.
Step 9: Once the meeting is over, the software will convert the meeting recordings to audio and video files for storage on your PC.
Step 10: After the conversion, the folder containing the recorded files will open automatically. The audio / video file (MP4) is usually named by default "Zoom_0.mp4", while the only audio file (M4A) is named "audio_only.m4a" by default.
Step 11: Saved files are stored in the following default location:
PC – C: Users User name Documents Zoom
Mac – / Users /User name/ Documents / Zoom
