Top 4 Ways to Change Default Background Color in Chrome
Whether your Chrome is blocked in black or dark mode or you want to change the Chrome theme, here you will find the answer for both. If you're having an issue where the font color is the same as the background color of Chrome, the following tips will help you fix that as well.
So let's see the different methods to change the color of Chrome.
1. Apply a different theme
Previously, you had to take the help of third-party themes to change the color of Google Chrome. But, a few months ago, Google introduced its own set of themes for Chrome. So you have to change the theme to one of the official themes to fix the problem in your current theme or just change the background color. You can even try other third party themes.
To change the Chrome theme, follow these steps:
Step 1: Launch Chrome and go to the Themes page of the Chrome store.
2nd step: There you will find various themes, starting with the bouquet of themes of Chrome. Click on the theme you want to apply.
Step 3: Click Add to Chrome for the theme you want to use. That’s it. You will get a new look for your Chrome.
2. Go back to the original Chrome theme
Sometimes there is a problem with your current theme, so instead of changing it to another theme, you should try to reset it to its default value. You can also use this method to revert to the original Chrome theme.
Here's how.
Step 1: In Chrome, click the three dots icon at the top and select Settings. You can also open chrome: // settings /.
2nd step: Scroll down to the Appearance section. You will find the Themes option. Click Reset to Default to return to the original Chrome theme.
3. Change the system theme
Under macOS and Windows, the color of Chrome also changes when you change the theme of your system. So you should try this method to change the color or return to the original color.
Change Chrome theme on Windows
Step 1: Access system settings from the Start menu.
2nd step: Click on Personalization.
Stage 3: Click on Colors.
Step 4: Here is the interesting part. You must choose a theme style from the drop-down list under Choose your color. You have three options – Light, Dark, and Custom. If you opt for the former, all supported apps and the Windows interface will have a clear theme. Likewise, choosing Dark will apply the black color to both.
If you only want to change the color of supported apps such as Chrome and leave Windows color intact or vice versa, choose the Custom option. Once selected, two new drop-down lists will appear. Select your theme preference under "Choose your default app mode" to apply it to Chrome and other supported apps.
Point: If the theme color already matches your preference for Chrome, but it displays a different color, select a different option, then return to your choice. This will resolve the problem if necessary.
Color your life
The theme will not apply color changes to web pages. They are limited to tabs, the favorites bar and similar areas. If the above methods don't change or reset the color of Chrome, you should try to reset Chrome settings. By the way, did you know that you can also change the default theme color for incognito mode?
