Downgrading iOS 16.2 to 15 still possible?
According websites that follow the iOS release signing status, there is no public release of iOS 15 that is signed yet for iOS 16 / iPadOS 16 compatible iPhone and iPad models!
However, these sites do not track beta versions. According to our test and the testimonials of our readers iOS 15.6 RC build number 19G69 is still signed for all iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 compatible devices!
This means you can downgrade any iPhone or iPad model running an iOS 16.x version to iOS 15.6 RC (19G69)!
System Requirements to Downgrade iOS 16.2 to 15
To be able to roll back to iOS 15, you need the following:
- A computer running macOS or Windows OS and updated Finder/iTunes software to the latest version.
- One Lightning to USB (USB-C) cable to connect iPhone/iPad to computer.
- The iOS 15.6 RC ipsw file, downloaded to your computer. (Use the download links provided below)
- An encrypted iPhone/iPad backup. We recommend that you do it locally on your computer before starting the iOS 16.2 downgrade!
