Google Play Store Update Brings 4 New Features

google play store
Google has just implemented a new update of the Play Store that goes to version 16.8.17. After you have updated the latest version of the application, you can take advantage of 4 new features of Google Play Store, including one-click erasure of your wish list applications, unsubscription of applications and the game update alerts and upcoming events. In addition, you can now exit all beta programs.

Google Play Store does not just offer apps and games in different genres and categories. It also keeps an eye on the user's ease of access. As a result, the Play Store is regularly updated with new useful features. Continuing this tradition, the giants of Silicon Valley have added four new features to the Play Store. These are related to your wish list, beta program processing, application publishing notifications and registration of applications and events. We will discuss each of them in detail below. It is extremely important that your Play Store be free from error, otherwise the steps below may not work properly. To do this, see the Google Play Store Error Fix Guide on Android devices before proceeding.

Do not forget that, like other updates launched by Google, it seems that it is also a server-side update. So, everyone may not have access to these features, at least for the moment. The users who received it were currently on the Play Store v-16.8.17 or above. If you do not have the same or later version, you can try to load it laterally on your device. Although the file is hosted by Apkmirror, which is a safe enough site to download applications, it does not prevent us at DroidViews from having any security guarantee as such. Try it at your own risk. That said, let's take a look at the different Google Play Store updates.

New features of the Google Play Store

To be able to use all the new Google Play Store features listed below, you must open the preferences in the application settings.

  1. Open the Play Store app and tap the hamburger icon (the three horizontal lines present at the top left).
  2. From there, press Settings.
  3. Under Settings, tap the Google Play Preferences option. There are four new options in this section. All of these Google Play store updates are explained below.

Note that if the Play Store Preferences option is still not available, try updating your application with the above version. In addition, do not forget to sign up for beta tester group. Even if you perform both of the above steps, it is likely that you still can not get this option. Indeed, it is a server-side update. In this case, you just have to wait until the update is published for general users.

1. A tap to clear your wish list

play store delete wishlist

Earlier, if you wanted to remove apps from your wish list, you had to go to the Wish List section of the side menu. From there, you can delete any application of your choice, but one application at a time. If someone had created their wish list without cluttering up all of its applications, it might take a while to delete one application at a time. Not anymore. With this new Play Store update, Google has added a Clear Wish List option under Preference of play section. Just tap it once and press CLEAR in the confirmation dialog. That's it. Your wish list will now be free of all applications.

2. Leave all beta programs at once

leave the beta

It's raining updates nowadays, especially after the introduction of dark mode. Since most of them seem to be a server-side update, users have not seen much of it. The least that a user can do from its end is to sign up for beta programs in order to receive the latest news much earlier than others. But once you've gotten this update or you no longer want to be part of a beta update because of stability issues, leaving these beta programs is perhaps the best choice.

However, it can be tedious to find this app on the Play Store, search for the beta program section, and then turn it off. Google has again provided a simple way out of this new update to the Play Store. Of Preference of play section, simply typing the Quit beta programs will allow you to unsubscribe from all beta programs at once. Just make sure you hit GO in the confirmation dialog box that appears.

3. Unsubscribe for Apps and Play Store Games

unsubscribe apps

Google Play Store has a very useful element that informs you for your favorite applications or games once it's released. All you need to do is search for the "publish" app and click Pre-Register. Upon publication, you will receive a notification about the same thing on your registered email. But suppose you do not want to be notified of this email anymore. One option would be to search for apps for which you have already signed up and then unsubscribe. But would not it have been so much easier if you had the choice to completely unsubscribe from all these apps at the same time? Well, Google seems to have also covered this situation, starting with this new update of the Play Store. Just go to Preference of play and press Cancel registration of all pre-registrations of applications and games. Confirm your decision by pressing unsubscribe.

4. Cancel registration to upcoming events

unsubscribe events

Similar to the one discussed above, it allows you to unsubscribe from any upcoming events for which you have registered. If you want to do the same, then under Settings, move towards Play Store Preferences and press Unsubscribe for upcoming events. As in the previous case, tap unsubscribe to confirm your decision.

So these were the four new updates from Google Play Store. If you want to add more features to the Google Play Store, this will be of great help to you or did you expect other features to be added. Let us know your views in the comments section below.
