For a long time, Gmail users requested the addition of a feature that could easily allow them to send emails as attachments in Gmail. Google also recognizes that attaching emails makes more sense than forwarding separate emails. As such, it now allows users to send emails as attachments in Gmail. Let’s see how it is done!

How to send emails as attachments in Gmail

You can now attach and send emails as attachments in Gmail, without having to forward or download them first. However, there are a few things to keep in mind, although you can attach as many emails as you want, you will need to use Google Drive to attach files if the file size exceeds the 25MB limit.

When you click on an attached email, it opens in a new window. A security banner will appear at the top of an attached email indicating its status (sent or received). There are two ways to send emails as attachments in Gmail,

  1. Forward an email as an attachment
  2. Reply with an attached email

Let’s see the methods a little more in detail.

1]Forward an email as an attachment

On your computer, go to Gmail.

Select the emails you want.

Click on ‘More‘then’Send as an attachment“.

In the “To” field, add recipients. You can also add recipients in the “Cc” and “Bcc” fields.

Then enter the subject and write your message.

When finished, press the ‘buttonTo send’Visible below.

To forward an email attachment, you can also right-click on a message or drag and drop the file into the body of your message. This will create a new thread with the emails attached and ready to be sent.

2]Reply with an attached email

On your computer, go to Gmail.

Open the desired email and choose “Reply“.

Now, in the upper right corner of the body of the email, click the “Exit“.

Now, in your inbox, select the email you want to attach and drag it into your message.

At the bottom, click Send.

That’s it!

Earlier, if you want to share an email you received with someone else, the easiest way to do this is to forward the email. However, this is not always appropriate, especially when the process involves sending multiple threads.
