  • In the text file that opens, on the IconResource = line in the desktop.ini window, replace the full path with the full path of the icon you want to use.

If you don’t have the IconResource = line, you will need to add it.

To restore the default icon for the Documents folder in Properties, follow these steps:

  • Open File Explorer.
  • Open the current location of your Documents folder (in this case C: Users Chidum.Osobalu) in File Explorer.
  • Then right click on Documents folder, and click Properties.
  • Click it Personalize tongue.
  • Click it Change icon button.
  • Click it Reset button.

4]Default restore icon for the Documents folder in the desktop.ini file

To restore the default icon for the Documents folder in the desktop.ini file, follow these steps:

  • Call the Run dialog box.
  • In the Run dialog box, copy and paste the environment variable below and press Enter.

  • In the text file that opens, on the IconResource = line in the desktop.ini window, change the full path as follows:
%SystemRoot%system32imageres.dll,-112
  • Then press CTRL + S to save the changes.
  • Exit the text file.
  • Restart the exploration process or log out of your current profile session and log back in to apply.
