If you started using the new Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser and want to manage, view or delete saved passwords in this browser, then this guide will help you. At the present time, you may not be able to export the passwords, but you will be able to view and delete them from the browser.
We often save passwords for various websites in the browser so that we can quickly log in to our account. While it's best to use a password manager, many people prefer to use the browser.
Manage, view, and delete saved passwords in the new Edge browser
To view or delete saved passwords in a new Microsoft Edge Chromium browser, follow these steps:
- Open the Profile Management page in the Edge browser.
- Go to the password page
- Click the Show Password icon
- Enter the PIN or password of your system account,
Once you have started Edge, you must open the profiles page in your browser. To do this, open your browser, click on the three-dot button visible in the upper right corner, then select Settings. It should open the profiles section automatically.
Alternatively, you can enter this in the address bar and click on the Enter button:
edge://settings/profiles
On the "Profiles" page, you can find an option called Passwords. Click this option to see all saved passwords.
Here you can find four options:
- Password save offer: If you disable this option, your browser does not display the message Save passwords that appears after entering a username and password on a website .
- Automatically connect
- Saved passwords: It displays all saved passwords.
- Never saved.
You have to take a look at the Saved passwords section because you can find all the saved passwords here. A password reveal icon is visible next to each registered password. If you want to view the password, click this icon, and then enter the PIN or password of your user account to verify.
If you want to delete a saved password, click the three-dot button and then click Wipe off option.
Please note that it is not necessary to enter a PIN or password to delete a registered password. Therefore, delete any password very carefully.
There is another option called Details, and it helps you find the name of the website, the username / email id and the password.
