For example, if your carrier plan offers 10 GB per month, you can set a data warning to 8 GB.

Step 7: Enable the Set Data Limit toggle. This option will turn off mobile data when the specified limit is reached.

This option is also useful when traveling abroad or want to control mobile data usage. These temporary local SIM cards come with limited internet data.

If you are running out of internet data for the current cycle, you should consider activating data saving mode on your Samsung Galaxy phone. It helps reduce your data usage by preventing apps from using data in the background.

Follow the steps below.

For example, in Data Saver mode, you will not receive a new WhatsApp message or new email until you open the app to manually check it. You might miss important notifications or calls while in Data Saver mode.

Fortunately, there is an option to exclude apps from Data Saver mode. In the same data logging menu, you can press the option “Allowed to use data during data saver”.

Select the apps such as messaging or email that can use mobile data in the background.

Use ultra data saving mode

Samsung also incorporates Ultra data saving mode on Galaxy phones for extreme situations. If your phone is low on mobile data, activate Ultra data saving mode.

The mode compresses data when it reaches your phone and also limits data usage in the background. Here’s how to activate it.
