How to Transfer Samsung Notes to Google Keep

There is a constant battle between Samsung and Google apps. While some users prefer the Samsung ecosystem, others love Google apps. A user is blocked when he / she likes an application of both. For example, someone might like Samsung messages more than Android messages, but prefer Google Keep to Samsung Notes. What if the same user wants to move their notes from Samsung Notes to Google Keep? Find the answer to this question in this article.

Samsung Notes is limited to Samsung phones and tablets and Windows PCs. This is not the case with Google Keep. You can use it on Web, iPhone, OnePlus, Pixel, and Mi phones outside of Samsung phones, making it a truly cross-platform app.

So if you want to import Samsung Notes to Google Keep, there are three methods here. Let’s see them.

Method 1: Transfer Samsung Notes to Google Continue using copy and paste

Sometimes we miss simple things. The traditional copy and paste method will help you move notes from Samsung Notes to Google Keep.

Here’s how to copy and paste notes from Samsung to Google Keep.

Step 1: Install the Google Keep app on your phone.

Download Google Keep

2nd step: Launch the Samsung Notes app and open the note.

Step 3: Press and hold any text in the note. Choose Select All from the options that appear. Then click the Copy button. The text has now been copied to your clipboard.

Step 4: Open the Google Keep app on your phone. Tap the add icon (+) on the button to create a new note.

Step 5: Tap and hold on the Note box and tap the Paste option that appears. Go back to save the note.

Step 6: Repeat the step for all notes.

Method 2: Transfer from Samsung Notes to Google Keep As Image File

If your Samsung Notes have images, this method will be useful as it also supports export of images. In this method, you need to share your Samsung Note as an image file, and then add it to Keep. You don’t have to copy and paste anything. Just press a button or two, as shown below. However, the downside is that this method does not allow you to move all the notes at the same time. You will need to move them individually.

Here’s how.

Step 1: Make sure the Google Keep app is installed on your phone.

2nd step: Launch the Samsung Notes app on your phone.

Step 3: Open the note you want to move to Google Keep. Tap the Share button at the top. Choose Image File from the menu.

Note: If your note consists only of text, choose Text file.

Step 4: The sharing screen will appear. Tap Keep notes.

Step 5: You can add a title for your note in the pop-up window that opens. Press the email identifier to change accounts, in case you have several Keep accounts. Press the Save button to add the note to Keep.

As you can see, the note from the Samsung Notes app appeared in Google Keep, including its image.

Step 6: Repeat the same steps for all notes in Samsung Notes.

Method 3: Transfer Samsung Notes to Google Keep As PDF

If the above method does not suit your needs or if you encounter a problem while using it, there is another way. This method may seem a bit long but is effective.

In this method, you need to export the note to PDF, add it to Drive, convert it to Google Docs format, and then save it to Google Keep. This will be useful if you have very little time to individually move notes to Google Keep, as you can export multiple notes to Google Drive using this method.

Here are the steps:

Step 1: Launch the Samsung Notes app.

2nd step: Tap the three-dot icon at the top and choose Edit.

Step 3: Tap All to select all notes. You can also select notes individually. To do this, tap the selection box next to the note.

Step 4: Tap the Share button. Choose a PDF file from the menu.

Note: If you want to move a single note, open it and press the Share button. Choose a PDF file from the menu.

Step 5: The sharing menu appears. Choose Save to Drive. Select the account and folder where you want to save your PDF files. Tap Save. The generated PDF file will contain images.

Step 6: Now open Google Drive on the web from drive.google.com. Navigate to the folder containing the Samsung Notes PDF files.

Step 7: Right-click the file and choose Open With> Google Docs. It will convert your PDF file to a Google Docs document.

Step 8: Your Docs document will open. However, it will not contain any media files from Samsung Notes.

Now select the text of the Google documents you want to move to Keep. Right-click the selected text and choose Save to keep.

The Google Keep panel opens on the right side of Docs. You will find your newly created note. Google Keep will attach the link from the Google Docs document to the note from which you created it.

Moving on is difficult
