LG's skin on Android is one of the least enjoyable Android OEM skin. However, the company now seems ready to change that with its new LG UX 9.0 skin. The skin is still based on Android 9 Pie. However, LG has already launched its Android 10 beta program in South Korea. So, you can expect the new user interface to come up with Android 10 in the coming months.
However, the LG UX 9.0 skin on Android is very much inspired by Samsung's One UI interface. First, it looks much better than the company's previous UX 8.0 skin. The new skin has some major modifications that are pretty and functional at the same time.
What's new in the skin LG UX 9.0?
Like Samsung's One UI, the UX 9.0 skin also makes it easy to use one hand in certain situations. To represent this, here is a preview of the redesigned notification panel in UX 9.0.
The newly designed notification panel brings the flip-flops to the bottom of the screen. This facilitates access when you use the phone with one hand. Samsung's unique user interface also puts the functional aspects of an application or interface down. To learn more about One UI, check out our detailed account of Samsung One UI.
Siding away from the obvious elements of Samsung's skin design, the video also shows other designs of the application. This includes messaging, dialing, clock and gallery applications. You can check the Youtube video Click below to take a look at the changes made from UX 8.0 skin to UX 9.0 skin.
As you may notice in the video, most of the changes made to the user interface are aimed at making the use of one hand a lot easier. This is a redesign welcomed by a larger number of OEMs. As smartphone screens get bigger and bigger, using one hand is almost impossible for an average person. However, when most of the interactive aspects are at the bottom of the screen, using the phone with one hand is not a problem.
LG Android 10 release date
The first LG smartphone to be revamped was the LG G8X ThinQ, although it is based on Android 9. The smartphone manufacturer has not yet revealed a specific launch date. The company is expected to release the stable update of Android 10 by the end of the year in South Korea. So we can safely assume that LG could release the Android 10 update by early 2020 globally.
We still do not know which LG smartphones would receive the UX 9.0 or Android 10 skin. However, our best guess is that the LG G8X ThinQ and the LG V50 ThinQ would be one of the first devices to receive the Android 10 update .
