If you were a fan of mechanical keyboard sounds and want to experience them on your PC keyboard, try Mechvibes. It is a free application that lets you play mechanical keyboard sounds when you type on your computer keyboard. In addition, the sound of pressing keys on the keyboard is known to irritate some – especially those who suffer from misophonia. Michvibes is a simple application that lets you define and play the sound of mechanical keys when you type your current keyboard. It looks more like a membrane or mechanical key with any type of switch.
Play mechanical keyboard sounds while you type
If you're looking for a way to make your keyboard make sounds when you type in Windows 10, you're sure to love Mechvibes.
The app is large to some extent, approximately 44.5MB. When you download and run the app, the main window of the app will appear.
Its interface seems quite simple with only a few options.
By default, the application is set to CherryMXBrown – PBT Keycaps. It is also the only sound currently available. We would like the manufacturer of the app to add more options in the future.
There is a volume slider that allows you to adjust the volume of the sound. The default sound is set to 20. The minimum sound limit is 0 and the maximum sound limit is 100.
You can choose any number between these limits by simply dragging the bar to the desired level.
Finally, there is a ‘Pause’Who stops the sound when you hit it. Pressing the button again changes the behavior and lets you listen to the sound.
Overall, it's a handy app, but it has a downside: users don't have the ability to change the default sound. However, additional sound sets will be released soon.
You can download it here from its home page.
It is open-source, completely free. and currently supports the following platforms: Windows, Mac, Linux, 64-bit edition. The mobile version for Android and iOS will be available soon.
