If there is a way to make specific applications run in a simulated virtual environment, where they have no access to any files, this will further secure your computer. What is it? Sandbox done – and the best part is that it works without any hardware virtualization support.

Once you have installed the free version, you can add applications to it, and when it launches, the software will run in a secure environment. This is especially useful if you are trying to use software that you do not trust but that you should use to make sure of it. So, it stands away from any malware, ransomware, Worms, Trojans and any other feat. You must restart the computer after installing the software.

How to add apps to Shade Sandbox

  1. Launch the software, and then click the Shade Sandbox button.
  2. This will open the side panel where you can drag the application. It can be a shortcut or an EXE file.

Characteristics of Shade Sandbox

1) the browser applications when running in Sandbox, make sure that all the programs you download are moved to a secure and restricted environment. So, if it is malicious, it will be restricted because it will not have access to Windows Files.

2) You can also right click on any application, then choose Open in one of the named virtual environments, put it in a sandbox, and open the virtual folder as well.

3) virtual folder is a way to keep the wires in a safe environment. Any virtualized application will be available at the address C: Shade.

So, when I virtualized VLC, the folder was:

C: Shade {50C7846E-8295-476E-BB62-05223A7A36BA} C Users ashis AppData Roaming vlc.

Similarly, for Edge, it was:

C: Shade {A0F20EBD-770D-432E-92D2-F3A7A5E90606} C Program Files (x86) Microsoft Edge Beta Application 77.0.235.27.

All your downloads will be available in the same folder. You also have the option to clean the isolated file as follows:

  • Open the shadow configuration panel
  • Click with the left mouse button on the "Shade Sandbox" button.
  • Click on the "Clean virtual folder" button.

This will remove the selected files from the sandbox but will not affect the data remaining outside the sandbox.

The best part of using Sandbox Shade is that you can drag apps, and the next time you run the application, it will be sandboxed. No additional configuration or authorization is required. Overall, a simple and excellent solution.

Request a free key for personal use

Although the software is paid for if you plan to use it for business, you can request a free key by using their contact page for personal use. When I connected with them, they offered a free key for a year. So, if you like the software, you can download it and then ask for a free key by writing to [email protected].

What happens after a year of expiration of the key? Depending on their support, the user may request another personal key. The only difference between home edition and the business edition is that you have to update the software yourself while the paying users receive the updates (patches, new versions) automatically.
