Telegram App v5.13 gets bundled with tons of new features

Among the most privacy-rich instant messaging applications, Telegram always seems to be ahead of its competitors in various respects. And to further strengthen this claim, it is regularly updated with many new features. This time, it's no different either. From creating themes with degraded colors to scheduling messages only when the recipient is online, many interesting features have been added. A shortcut to activate dark mode, giving administrators the power to control the frequency of messages and to send messages without any sound, is some other features introduced. New features when sending messages in a telegram

Among the plethora of new features in the Telegram app, the conversation section was the most witness. And in this, the ability to send messages without any sound is my favorite. If you choose this method when sending messages via Telegram, the recipient's device will not play any notification sound.

This could be useful, for example, in scenarios where the receiver is busy in a meeting and forgets to keep their device in silent mode. So if you want to send messages without sound, open the conversation window and enter the desired text. Then long press To send icon and choose "Send without sound". Another new telegram functionality is the ability to send messages only when the receiver is online. To try it out, enter the message and long press the To send icon. Select the Schedule a message (Likewise, refer to this guide to schedule WhatsApp messages). Then press the overflow menu located at the top right. Finally, press "Send when comes online".

Apart from that, another minor change is that the thumbnails of the images in the attachment menu have increased considerably. In addition, Maps was also introduced in dark mode. Tap the attachments menu and select the location option to witness this change.

More power for group administrators

This new Telegram feature will certainly be welcomed by all the administrators of the group. If you are the administrator of a group, you can specify the time interval at which messages should arrive. In other words, each member can only send a new message in the group after the time limit has expired.

You have the duration of 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes and 1 hour. To access this feature, open the relevant group and tap its name. Then press Edit icon present in the top menu. Meeting on permissions and choose the desired duration in the Slow mode section.

New themes in Telegram

The new functionality of the Telegram app now allows you to also create custom themes. The app already had tons of predefined themes. But with this new update, you can further customize your chat screens. There are now an infinite number of possible colors. This is possible thanks to the ability to select colors from the gradient palette or by entering any RGB value. To do this, tap the hamburger icon in the main menu. Meeting on settings > chat settings. Under the Color theme section, tap the center circle with three horizontal dots (see screenshot above). You will now be able to choose the desired color from the gradient palette. You can also manually enter the desired RGB value. When finished, press Save.

All of these new features have made their way to the stable version of Telegram. Go to Play Store and download the last version right now.
