Top 3 Ways to Create a Group Text on Samsung Phones
Sending SMS to individual contacts is pretty easy on any phone. But when it comes to a group text or sending a mass text, reality hits hard in the face. Okay, I exaggerated that. Doing a group discussion is not that difficult. If you are curious about creating group text on Samsung Galaxy phones then you have landed on the right page.
There are different ways to group chat from Samsung Galaxy phones. However, group chat on Samsung Messages is different from what you find on instant messaging apps like WhatsApp. Think of it as broadcasting a message. Don’t be confused. We’ve covered the basics in the first section below.
Let’s see three ways to create group text on Samsung Messages app.
Important things to know about group chat on Samsung phones
Before going into the methods, there are some important things you should be aware of while messaging using the Samsung Messages app.
- Group texts are only intended for sending texts. This means that if someone replies to the message you sent in a group, the reply will be displayed in that contact’s discussion thread on your phone and not in the group message.
- The reply to the group message will be sent to the sender only and not to all group members.
- Recipients of the group message will only see your contact when they receive a group message, that is, they will not see other contacts in your group. For them, the message will appear as a normal message and not as a group message.
- You can only add a maximum of 20 participants in the Samsung Messages app.
Now on to the methods.
Method 1: Create a group chat by adding contacts in the Messages app
One of the easiest ways to text multiple contacts is to use the Samsung Messages app itself. Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: Launch the Messages app. Tap the Compose icon to start a new message.
2nd step: Type the name of the first recipient to whom you want to send the message. In the same box, continue to type the names of the other contacts. You can also tap the add icon (+) to insert more contacts.
You will see all the contacts who will receive the message in the Recipients section. Tap the small delete icon (-) next to the contact if you accidentally added a bad contact.
Step 3: Once you have added all the participants, type your message in the available box and finally click on the Send button.
When the message is sent, the group text will remain in your inbox. You can open the same conversation in case you want to message the same people again.
