16 Best Samsung Game Launcher Settings That You Should Know

With Samsung Galaxy S7, Samsung has introduced a new feature for its phones: Game Launcher. It is your one stop destination for all your gaming needs on a Samsung phone. You can track your game stats, history and check the rankings, among other interesting things. Game Launcher provides a gateway to incredible settings to enhance the gaming experience on your phone. In this article, we will tell you about the best Samsung Game Launcher settings you should use.

Anyone who likes to play games on their mobile phone would love the Game Launcher app. You can call it a regular launcher on steroids, but only for games. You can use other apps while playing a game, record your screen and even change the performance modes to suit the capabilities of your phone.

Let’s see all the cool features you get in Game Launcher.

1. Activate or deactivate the game launcher

If you don’t see the game launcher icon on your phone, it can be turned off. To activate it, proceed as follows:

Step 1: Open Settings on your phone and access the advanced features.

2nd step: Activate the toggle next to Game Launcher.

You will find the newly added game launcher icon in the application drawer of your phone. To deactivate the game launcher, repeat the steps and deactivate the same toggle.

2. Mute games

If the game you are playing does not offer audio controls or if it is tucked deep into the settings, you can disable the game using Game Launcher.

To do this, tap the mute icon at the top of the Game Launcher app home screen. To turn the sound back on, tap the same icon.

3. Add game applications to the game launcher

By default, all games automatically appear in Game Launcher when you activate it or install a new game. If a certain game acts oddly, you can manually add it to Game Launcher.

To do this, swipe up on the Game Launcher home screen to open the game library.

Tap the three-dot icon at the top and select Add apps. Then choose the applications you want to have in Game Launcher.

Point: You can even add regular apps outside of games to Game Launcher.

4. Organize or sort games

Do you have multiple games added to Game Launcher? Is finding your favorite game a task? Although Game Launcher doesn’t allow you to add a game to your favorites, it does allow you to sort them for easy discovery. To do this, open the game library by swiping up. Tap the three-dot icon and choose Sort Games.

5. Customize the game library

The section containing the games in Game Launcher is called the library. You can change the size of the game icons, change the way the library should open when you launch an application, and customize the location of new games in the library. All these options are grouped in the library settings.

To do this, open the library by swiping up in Game Launcher. Tap the three-dot icon and choose Library settings. Then change each setting as desired.

6. Declutter the home screen and application drawer

Are you an application junkie? If so, you can clean up the drawer of your application a bit by not displaying games. The games would then only be visible in Game Launcher.

To activate this feature, open Game Launcher and tap the three bar icon at the top. Tap the settings icon.

Disable the toggle next to “Hide home games and apps”.

7. Change screen recording resolution

It’s no surprise that you can record your screen or take a screenshot using Game Launcher. What’s interesting is that you can customize the resolutions of screenshots and screen recordings.

There are two ways to change this setting. First, start playing a game in Game Launcher. Tap the performance icon at the bottom, then tap the settings icon.

The app will take you to the Game Booster settings. There you will find the screen capture resolution and the recording resolution. Tap it to edit them.

Alternatively, follow the method mentioned below to access the Game Booster settings. These steps will apply to all of the settings mentioned below.

Step 1: In the Game Launcher app, tap the three bar icon at the top.

2nd step: Tap game performance.

8. Record your voice during screen recording

If you want to speak while you record your screen using Game Launcher, a setting is also available for this. You will find the option “ Use microphone during recording ” under the resolution settings in the settings of Game Booster. Activate it.

9. Lock the screen during the game

Sometimes you may want to pause your game a little. Instead of turning off the screen and then going through the entire unlock and resume process, you can use the Game Launcher native lock screen feature.

When activated, your display will not turn off. You need to slide the lock down to continue the game. To lock the screen, tap the screen lock icon at the bottom.

10. Reduce power consumption when the screen is locked

You would think that locking the screen in the above manner will consume a lot of battery. To conserve battery life, Game Launcher offers a native power-saving setting by reducing the frame rate of games. Go to the Game Booster settings and activate the toggle next to the “Energy saving during locking” option.

11. Launch the game in full screen

Some users like to play games in full screen mode. Unfortunately, not all games are designed for this. But with Game Launcher, you can force any game to open in full screen.

To use this feature, go to Game Booster settings. Tap full screen apps. Tap the app you want to use in full screen and choose Full screen.

12. Hide the camera notch

Game Launcher also allows you to hide the notch on your phone when playing games. A black bar appears to hide the entire region of the notch.

To do this, open the setting of the Full Screen application in the settings of Game Booster. Tap the three-dot icon at the top and choose Advanced. Activate the toggle for cutting out the Hide camera.

13. Change the right shortcut icon

When you launch a game in Game Launcher, you will see two new shortcut icons in the navigation bar. Although the one on the left is not editable, you can customize the one on the right. You can keep it to take a screenshot, save the screen, activate the screen lock, etc.

15. Customize Pop-Up Panel

The pop-up panel in Game Launcher lets you open apps that float on top of a game, as shown in the screenshot below.

So you can watch videos while playing your move in a game. However, only four apps can be added to the panel. To customize the apps, you need to open Pop-up panel settings present inside Game Booster settings. Then add or remove the apps.

16. Change Performance Mode

Game Launcher comes with three performance modes — power saving, balanced, and performance. You can change it anytime and use as per your need.

To do so, go to Game Booster settings followed by Game performance.

Make the Game Launcher Work

While Game Launcher may sound amazing with the above settings, it is bound to face issues like any other app. If Game Launcher isn’t working on your phone, you should clear its cache and data. For that, go to Settings on your phone > Apps > Game Launcher > Storage. Tap on Clear cache followed by Clear data. Hopefully, Game Launcher will start working in its full glory.
