Top 9 Tips to Customize Lock Screen on Android
The lock screen is your gateway to your phone. In its simplest form, you can access your notifications, react to them, display the date, time and information about the battery.
Apart from that, you can use your lock screen to the maximum of its possibilities by following the tips mentioned here. Let's see the tips of the lock screen under Android.
1. Change the type of lock screen
As its name indicates, the lock screen is primarily used to secure your phone by locking it. All phones offer three types of locks: schema, PIN and password. Choose the one you like. The new phones also offer fingerprint authentication and face recognition locks.
To change the lock type, go to Phone Settings> Security> Screen Lock. Change the type of lock mode.
On Samsung phones, go to Settings> Locked Screen> Lock Screen Type. On some phones, you'll find it in Settings> Display> Locked Screen. If it is not in any of these settings, use the search at the top of the settings to find the type of screen locked.
2. Disable the lock screen
If you do not like the lock screen, you can disable it by choosing None in the lock screen type. You can also use it without any lock mode by choosing Swipe. When you do, you will need to slide your finger on the lock screen to open it. It is obvious that anyone with access to your phone can see its contents.
3. Set a different screen background from the home screen
If you thought your home screen and lock screen had to look the same, you're surprised. All Android phones allow you to set a different screen background for the lock screen.
There are two ways to do it.
Parameters
Go to Phone Settings> Display> Screen Background. On some phones, you will find the screen settings directly under Settings. Tap on it. Open the photo you want to keep as a screen and press Set Screen Background. Choose Lock Screen if you want to set it as the screen background only for the locked screen.
Since the application of the gallery
Most gallery apps on Android allow you to set a photo as a screen background. Launch the photo in the Gallery application and use the Set option as one of the available options. Choose Screen Background followed by Lock Screen from the pop-up menu.
4. Add a message on the lock screen
The contents of the lock screen keep changing because it comes mainly from notifications. If you want to set a message or text of your choice on the lock screen, you can do it.
This is very convenient if you forget your phone somewhere and that a good-hearted soul finds it. Generally, if your phone is locked, they will not be able to know the owner of the phone. But if you have kept your contact information such as your email ID or phone number as a message on the lock screen, they can find you easily.
To set a locked screen message, go to Settings> Display> Lock Screen Display (check under Advanced Options)> Lock Screen Message. On Samsung phones, go to Settings> Lock Screen> Contact Information.
5. Add users from the lock screen
Most Android phones, other than those made by Samsung, support multi-user accounts. With this feature, each user has a separate space on your phone. To add or change a user, you must go to User Settings and add a user. But there is a setting that allows you to add users directly from the lock screen.
To enable this setting, go to Settings> Display> Lock Screen View (in Advanced Options)> Add Users from Locked Screen.
Once activated, you will find the user's icon above the quick settings. Tap to see other users.
6. Disable the content of the notification
Even if your device is locked, your notifications appear on the lock screen. If some people prefer this solution, it is not necessary to unlock the phone to ignore or display a notification, others hate it for reasons of confidentiality. Fortunately, you can choose to view the entire content of the notification or hide it.
To do this, go to Settings> Display> Locked Screen> Locked Screen. Choose the required option.
On Samsung phones, go to Settings> Lock Screen> Notifications. Select the Hide content check box if you do not want to display notifications on the lock screen. You can also choose the notification style.
7. Unlock the device automatically
Android phones have a nice feature that lets you leave your phone unlocked when it meets certain conditions. For example, the lock will be disabled when you are at home or when the phone is in your hands. This feature is called Smart lock.
To use it, go to Settings> Security> Smart Lock. Enter your existing lock code and choose the smart lock mode. If the smart lock does not work on your phone, try these fixes.
Point: On some phones, you will find the Smart Lock under Settings> Locked Screen> Smart Lock.
Bad moments
With the advent of authentication modes such as fingerprint sensor and facial recognition, our interaction with the lock screen has decreased. Features such as permanent display, have also lost visibility to the lock screen. All that remains is still customizable in the manner mentioned above.
