DesktopCal makes for a decent alternative to default Calendar app

The default calendar app on Windows 10 is good enough for most situations, but what happens when users want a little more from their calendar? The best option is to use free third-party calendar software, and as such, we’ve scoured the web to find something worth using.

After searching for a few moments, we came across DesktopCaland from what we’ve seen so far, it’s not half bad. With it, people can manage their appointments, schedules, to-do lists and much more. Also, if you want to save something, just double-click on the date and make the changes immediately.

1]Transparent design

By default, DesktopCal has a transparent design, which means that the user will be able to see everything behind it. For some, it’s nothing more than a distraction, so how do you change it? It’s simple, really. Just click on the little down arrow, then select Settings.

A new window should now appear and within life a lot of things that the user can change to customize the software. OK, so to change the transparency, click Cell in the left pane. You should now see the option to change the transparency percentage. By default, it is set at 50%.

Select the percentage section and set it to solid to completely remove the 100% transparency. If you want to change the cell color or the text font, this can be done from the same area, no problem.

2]Double click on Cell

OK, so for anyone wishing to save an appointment or other, the only option is to double-click in one of the cells. After that, the user can among other things record events, appointments.

Everything recorded in a single cell can be distributed to others with the repeat function. In addition, people can change the text color, etc.

Hey, we can agree that DesktopCal is not the most advanced calendar tool, and it is no better than the default program in Windows 10. However, it seems easy to watch, and when it comes to create new events, we think it’s simpler than what Microsoft has to offer.
