TWRP for Pixel 4 and Pixel 4XL has not yet been released and has been distributed by the official statementit will definitely take a little longer. Although you can still run some of its features via fastboot commands. But the main problem arises when your device, Pixel 4 / XL in this case, goes into a startup loop after installing one of the Magisk modules. In general, it is easy to remove these modules via TWRP recovery.
However, without recovery, you only have the option to completely erase your data with the help of fastboot -w order. But this is not always the feasible way, because most often, users do not really create backup just before updating a module. Thus, in this guide, we will provide step-by-step instructions for solving the problem of Pixel 4 / XL started after installing Magisk modules. In addition, we would not take the help of an unofficial TWRP recovery / scope.
Fix Bootlooping Pixel 4 / XL without recovery TWRP
To repair the Pixel 4 / XL started in a loop, we will start the device in the Magisk Core-Only fashion. Starting in this mode, you will have a temporary root on your device and, of course, your device will also boot. Once this is done, you can simply uninstall the Magisk modules from the Magisk Manager or use the adb codes. Both are explained in this guide. Begin the process by downloading the required files from the section below.
Downloads
To do this, you will need image files in Magisk Core-Only mode for your Pixel 4 / XL. A big thank you to the developer recognized by XDA Tulsadiver to provide these files.
Apart from this, you must also configure ADB and Fastboot Platform Tools on your desktop. We have already covered a detailed guide on how to do it. Go check it out.
