Apple is offering the AirPods 5A304a beta firmware download to registered developers, who own compatible wireless headphones like the AirPods 2, 3, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max. The testing phase began after WWDC 2022 with build number 5A5282d.
This new firmware will be released this fall alongside iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9, macOS 13, tvOS 16 and HomePod 16.
How to Install AirPods 5A304a Beta Firmware
Before you start, know that you need the following:
– an iPhone running iOS 16 Beta.
– a Mac updated to macOS 13 Beta.
– Xcode 14 beta installed on the Mac.
+ a pair of compatible AirPods (2.3, Pro or Max).
- 1. Login on Apple developer website and go to More downloads.
- 2. To download the AirPods Firmware 5A304a.
- 3. Pair AirPos with iPhone and connect the iOS device to the Mac using the Lightning cable.
- 4. Open Xcode 14 beta on Mac.
- 5. Opt for Settings -> Developer.
- 6. Select the pre-release beta firmware, available in the AirPods Testing section.
Point: Allow AirPods to update themselves as you normally would with a public firmware update. Make sure the wireless headphones are in their case, the case is connected to power. More details available here.
