How to Show Internet Speed on Status Bar in Samsung Phones
If you have recently switched to a Samsung phone, you must feel lost. Even though it runs on Android as the majority of smartphones, it carries a custom skin over the stock Android. And therefore, a new user often feels overwhelmed. While it's fun to explore a new phone, it's equally important to monitor the status of the phone's data connectivity.
So, how to display the network speed in the status bar and notification panel of Samsung phones? Let's see the answer.
View Internet speed without application in Samsung
Unfortunately, Samsung has not managed to set up the speedometer function on its phones. This means that there is no native function in Samsung phones to display the network speed as present in the Mi and OnePlus handsets. But do not worry. You do not need to root your device or do anything strange to get the speed of the internet. Just use third-party applications.
We have selected 4 Internet Speed Watch applications that work seamlessly on Samsung phones. All are free. You just need to install them and forget them. If you're feeling better, these apps offer additional features over native functionality. You can customize the unit of speed, the upward speed, and the type of data to display.
Let's check network speed monitoring apps for Samsung phones.
1. Internet Speedometer Lite
I've been using this app for almost two years now on my Google Pixel 2 XL. I like the app for two reasons: it displays a 30-day history of total data usage per day and supports Wi-Fi and mobile data.
When you install the application, you will immediately notice the speedometer in the status bar. Open any application such as YouTube and play a video. The meter will indicate the download speed.
As an added bonus, the application allows you to display various information about your phone, such as network details, device information (processor, screen, keyboard type), and so on.
To enable the speedometer in the notification panel, go to the application settings by tapping the settings icon and then clicking the Notification tab. Enable Toggle to enable notification. All features are only available in the 2MB application.
4. Data Monitor: Simple Net-Meter
When it is time to monitor the speed, the application only displays the download speed in the status bar. But if you look at the notification panel, you get a lot of information, including the current speed of the Internet and the total use of the data.
In addition to having the ability to view the Internet speed in the status bar, this app also tracks all network connections established on your phone in real time. You can display the ping and traceroute graph. In addition, the application presents a graph in real time and a graph of data use. It also displays the 30-day data usage history. The application weighs about 5 MB.
Wish things are different
Whatever the situation, third-party applications always come to the rescue. Although they work perfectly, we prefer to have an integrated functionality instead of downloading applications. All Samsung fans would prefer to have a native option to display the speed of the Internet in the status bar. We hope that Samsung will add this feature soon.
