Top 10 Ways to Fix Google Discover Feed Not Working Issue
The Google feed is a great way to read personalized news. Generally, each time you open the Google app, the Discover feed automatically updates to show you the new content. However, sometimes the Google feed doesn’t refresh. Let’s take a look at how to fix the Google feed problem that isn’t working on Android.
When the Google feed is not working, you will see a blank or empty screen with just the search bar or nothing at all. Sometimes the screen will get stuck on a rotating icon without loading data.
But do not worry. Just follow the solutions mentioned below to fix the problem of refreshing Google news feed.
1. Restart the phone
The problem can be temporary and can be easily resolved by restarting your phone. So this should be the first step in solving this problem. You should also check other apps. If they also failed to load, also restart your router.
2. Toggle display of Google app
If the problem only concerns the Pixel Launcher discovery stream, you must deactivate and reactivate the required setting. To do this, long press on the home screen of your Pixel Launcher and press on Home settings. First, make sure the button next to Show Google app is enabled. If it is disabled, enable it. If it’s already on, turn it off, then on again.
3. Enable discovery in the Google app
If you’re using the Discover feed in the Google app, you’ll need to check whether it’s enabled or not. In case it is disabled, you will see a blank white screen and the stream will not work.
To check this, open the Google app on your phone and tap the More tab. Tap Settings.
Go to the general. Then activate the toggle next to Discover. If it is already activated, deactivate it and reactivate it.
4. Clear the cache and data
You should also try to clear the cache for the Google app and Google Play services. This will not delete any personal data from your phone.
To clear the cache, do the following:
Step 1: Open Settings on your phone and go to Applications or Applications & Notifications.
2nd step: Tap Google under All apps.
Step 3: Tap Storage. Then press the Clear cache button.
Step 4: Likewise, clear the cache for Google Play services.
Step 5: Restart the phone. If the problem persists, tap Clear data or storage in step 3 for Google apps and Google Play Services. Then restart your phone again.
5. Update the application
The problem could be related to the Google app itself. To cancel this, open the Play Store and check if an update is available for the Google app. Install it. Learn how to know if apps need to be updated on a mobile phone.
Point: You can also try to download an APK for the updated version of the Google app from a reliable site such as APKMirror.com.
6. Uninstall Google app updates
Since the Google app is a preinstalled app, you cannot uninstall it from your phone. However, you can remove its updates to resolve issues related to the application. To do this, open the Play Store and search for Google. Tap the Google app and tap Uninstall. Restart your phone. Then update the application. Your feed will work normally.
7. Check the connected account
The Google feed does not work on certain professional accounts. You need to verify the primary Google account connected to the Google app. If this is your business account, go to your personal account.
To do this, open the Google app and tap the profile photo icon at the top. The first account listed at the top is the currently active account. Tap another account to access it.
8. Activate use without account
Another way to solve the problem is to use the Google app without an account. When you enable the feature, you cannot use the discovery feed. You will be asked to activate it. This will help you solve the problem.
To do this, launch the Google app and tap the profile photo icon at the top. Select Use without account.
Go to the Discover feed. Tap Activate. Then select the Google account.
9. Check the restricted use of data
You need to check if the Google app is allowed to access data in the background. To do this, open Settings on your phone and go to Applications. Tap Google and then tap Data usage or Mobile data and Wi-Fi, depending on the option available. Turn on the toggle for the background data.

10. Reset application preferences
Finally, you need to reset the app preferences on your Android phone. If a setting interferes with the normal operation of the Google app, it will be corrected by reset. This will not delete any of your data. It will only reset the settings. Find out which settings are restored using the reset preferences in the app.
To reset application preferences, go to Settings> Applications. Tap the three-dot icon and select Reset app preferences.
Other ways to access Google Feed
If the discovery stream still fails to load, you can use other means to access it. For example, you can also use it in Chrome. Just open the Chrome app and you will find the suggested items. You can also download the light version of the Google app called Google Go. It also supports the Discover feed. And, if the problem is limited to the Pixel launcher, try the launchers that support the Google feed.
