Top 7 Ways to Fix WhatsApp Call Not Ringing When iPhone Is Locked
It’s one thing for WhatsApp calls not to work on your iPhone. Conversely, it’s a whole different ball game when WhatsApp calls work, but incoming calls give no notification, especially when your iPhone is locked. Fortunately, like other WhatsApp notification issues, this one is also easily repairable. Therefore, in the section below, we highlight 7 ways to get WhatsApp to send call notifications every time you receive a call.
Often, WhatsApp calls don’t ring when your iPhone is locked due to a device or built-in notification setup. Rarely, but perhaps, the problem could also be related to the software, where the version of WhatsApp installed on your device presents a bug which causes a malfunction. Whatever the case, read on to find out how to fix it.
Note: The solutions listed in this guide apply to WhatsApp audio and video calls.
1. Deactivate silent mode
First, make sure your iPhone is not in silent mode. This could prevent regular / cell phone calls and WhatsApp calls from ringing. Check that the Ring / Silent switch on the upper left side of your iPhone does not display an orange color. If so, your device is in silent mode – notification alerts and ringtones will be turned off.
Move the switch to the other side. This will put your device in Ring mode, and a “Silent Mode: Off” pop-up window will appear on your screen. If WhatsApp calls still don’t ring when your iPhone is locked, go to the next solution.
2. Update WhatsApp
As mentioned earlier, the problem could be due to a bug in the WhatsApp app. Update your iPhone’s WhatsApp to the latest version and check if the problem persists. Update WhatsApp from the App Store on your device and tap the Update WhatsApp button below.
