7 Best Ways to Fix MIUI Dual Apps Permission Denied Error
The error occurs not when the user tries to clone an application, but when he tries to open it. Typing on the cloned application does not do anything except throw this error on the screen.
Let's see how to solve it.
1. Enable / disable
Maybe it's a small problem. Have you tried disabling the feature and then re-enabling it? Open the settings and press Dual Apps.
Tap the app to remove the cloned application and wait a few seconds. When you see a confirmation message, reactivate it.
Tap the newly cloned icon to check if you still see the permission error denied by Dual Apps.
Fun fact: Xiaomi is popularly known as the Chinese apple. Indeed, their personalized MIUI is heavily influenced by iOS. Fortunately, Android is so flexible that you can change its operation and behavior with launchers, themes, icon packs, and more.
2. Tap the original icon
Here's a simple trick that will work every time. When you search for the cloned application, for example WhatsApp, you see two icons. An original that you have installed from the Play Store and another cloned, which bears an orange icon tag in the corner.
Tap the original icon and MIUI will ask you which app to open – the original application or the one cloned.
3. Open with Google
You can also use Google Assistant to open WhatsApp. Again, when you give the 'Open WhatsApp' command to your phone, the wizard will ask you to choose the version of WhatsApp you want to open.
Select the one you want. It may not be a transparent solution but it works well. If you use voice commands, things will become easier.
4. Use the second space
Second Space is not the same as Dual Apps, but you can still use it to clone apps. You will create a separate space on your phone with its settings and applications. Log in using another account and you're done.
Although this allows you to install the same application twice, you will need to change the space each time you want to use the application. This can be a bit heavy, but you will have an effective solution.
5. Change launcher
I use Nova Launcher as it is one of the most flexible and feature-rich launchers in the Android ecosystem. It is also known to interfere with the operation of Dual Apps. Sad. The development team is working on a fix and you will need to change your launcher in the meantime.
We have covered some launchers at GT like Action, Evie and Microsoft which I recommend you to consult.
