WordPad can easily format and print text, including fonts, bold, italic, color and centered text, etc. Unlike MS Word, WordPad lacks certain functions like a spell checker, a thesaurus, etc. Recent versions of new versions of Windows 10, the operating system comes with a list of optional applications.

Uninstall and reinstall WordPad

- Uninstall / reinstall using the DISM command

To uninstall WordPad using the optional features menu:
- Press the Win + I keys, the Settings the application will open.
- Move towards applications > applications & features.
- Now click on the Optional features link. The menu of optional features will open.
- In the list of optional features, scroll down and search for WordPad.
- Select the option and click Uninstall.

To reinstall WordPad using the Optional Features menu:
- Press the Win + I keys, the Settings the application will open.
- Move towards applications > Applications and features.
- Now click on the Optional features link. The optional features menu will open.
- Click on Add a characteristic.
- In the list of optional features, scroll down and search for WordPad.
- To select WordPad and click Install.
Wait a bit and you will find WordPad in the Start menu.

Using the command prompt is the best way to uninstall / reinstall WordPad from your system.
Open the command prompt as an administrator.
To uninstall WordPad, type the following command and press Enter:
dism /Online /Remove-Capability /CapabilityName:Microsoft.Windows.WordPad~~~~0.0.1.0
To reinstall WordPad, type the following command and press Enter:
dism / Online / Add-Capability /CapabilityName:Microsoft.Windows.WordPad~~~~0.0.1.0
